This pool was installed on the island of St. Maarten by the Gib-San International Task Force - a Gib-San team that flies-in with all the necessary equipment to create pools like this one. Gib-San has developed an expertise in the planning, management, and materials logistics of remote installations. "Our investment in ISO quality management systems and other project management tools and training have all contributed to our success with these remote installations. The spin-off effect from these systems and skills developed doing this type of work is the added efficiency of our local installations as well," said Ed Gibbs, President.

Expanded Customer Care Team - At Gib-San, we plan our customer care - we don't just expect it to happen. We have expanded our Customer Care Team to ensure we do our best in communicating with our clients. Nicole Moore recently joined the Gib-San team as Customer Care Coordinator and main contact person for service enquiries and scheduling. She initiates the work orders and ensures the communications flows quickly between the clients and the service groups. In the construction areas, Project Managers interact with clients after the sales creation team passes a pool order to the construction team. David Bergstrome recently joined Gib-San as Project Manager for custom concrete construction. He has extensive experience in both residential and commercial construction. Vinyl pool construction is coordinated by Mario Cabral, a long time Gib-San Project Manager with a reputation for keeping clients advised and happy. Employee Care - FranklinCovey Program - Recently sixteen members of our team attended a full day FranklinCovey workshop that deals with finding balance - both at work and in our personal life. We believe in investing in our employees, with training and support systems that allows them to excel at their work. We believe that this investment not only helps our employees grow and have a sense of satisfaction, but to perform better which in turn benefits our clients. "Art of Water" Design Award winner - Recently Gib-San won nine awards, including two top Diamond Awards for custom concrete pool and spa designs. This award competition was sponsored by Pools, Spas & Patios magazine, representing builders from across Canada. Each year, Gib-San enters both Canadian and international competitions as a benchmarking tool for our designs and to help both ourselves and the industry strive for higher creative achievements.
Planning a pool - by Jay Middleton, Head Designer - "People now consider their outdoors to be very much a part of their house living space. When designing a pool, consideration is given to the total environment and how the different elements work together. In addition to Jay, the team behind Gib-San award winning pools designs are creative designers Melodie St. Clair and Matthew Rosenbloom, and Peter Friis,Senior Vice President Remodeling to be 'new' - You don't have to move to have a spectacular 'new' pool. Concrete pools are built to last, but that doesn't mean they have to look the same over their entire lifetime. We renovate our houses periodically to change the look and add features, so why not the pool? An advantage of a concrete pool is that it can be altered to adapt to your changing needs - from a basic 'refreshening' renovation with a new interior and deck finish - to a complete remodel of spa, steps, and massage jets. 2006 Award winners - This hot tub nestled into the rock-setting was an Award winner at the Jacuzzi International Competition held in Puerto Rico. If you are maintaining your pool and hot tub yourself, run your pump for a couple of days after starting up your pool or hot tub for the season, and then bring a water sample into the Pool & Hot Tub Centre for professional testing. It is important that you start the season with properly balanced water. In addition to weekly water testing during the season, always check it after heavy usage or exceptionally hot or rainy weather and ensure your filter is kept clean according to the manufacturer's recommendations. A periodical professional water test throughout the season is recommended.

St. Maarten - one of the world's largest residential pools - This spectacular 30 m x 50 m (100 ft. x 50 ft.) pool is one of the largest residential pools in the world. It features a children's play-pool, two spas, a grotto with slide, and a vanishing edge that creates the illusion of the pool water seamlessly joining the sea. The pool wall doubles as a sea wall for the estate. Twelve pumps are required to operate all the special features.Twelve in-pool lights make the pool just as spectacular at night, and six in-pool speakers project the mood music even underwater. Custom tiles from Italy, some with gold-leaf and others of glass to highlight the steps, add an elegant finishing touch.

Past Chairman of Master Pools Guild - At a recent meeting in London, England, Ed Gibbs was recognized for his role as 2006 Chairman of the Master Pools Guild. They acknowledged his leadership in marketing initiatives to enhance the Guild profile and in programs to enhance communications within the membership and its vendors. The Master Pools Guild is a global network of over 100 elite custom pool builders committed to sharing technical information and techniques to build the finest pools in the world. Ed remains on the board in 2007 as Past Chairman.
Pool Creation Centre - Gib-San simplifies the decision making process for clients planning a new pool with our Creation Centre. The centre is decorated with large photos of pools of all shapes and features and samples of materials. If you don't see what you are looking for on the walls, then sit back and review the website gallery or video presentations - and you will find something that sparks your interest.
